Design begins long before a sketch takes shape. It starts with observation — of form, of balance, of the way a piece will live on the body and in time. Each NYX design is approached with a focus on proportion and intention.
I consider how weight is distributed, how metal meets skin, and how a gemstone interacts with light in movement rather than stillness. These decisions are subtle, often invisible at first glance — yet they define the character of the piece.
I am drawn to clarity over complexity. A design feels complete when nothing more needs to be explained — when form, material, and function exist in quiet harmony. This restraint is not a limitation. It is the work itself.
Working closely with our atelier allows ideas to evolve naturally. The dialogue between design and craftsmanship is constant, and each piece gains depth through this exchange. Adjustments are made by hand, proportions are reconsidered, surfaces are refined — until the piece carries both precision and ease.
No two pieces pass through this process in exactly the same way. The material has its own character, and the design must meet it honestly.
Designer's Notes offers a glimpse into this way of thinking. It reflects a belief that true luxury lies not in excess, but in intention — in creating jewellery that feels personal, balanced, and enduring.
Pieces designed to accompany life. To gather meaning over time. To remain relevant long after the moment they were created.
Every NYX piece begins as a question — and the answer, always, is found in the making.
